The Worst Earthquake in Turkey this Century
A 7.9-magnitude earthquake struck the Pazarck district of Kahramanmaraş in southeast Turkey on 6 February 2023 at 4.17 am. It severely impacts the majority of Turkey and northern Syria, causing more than 9,000 deaths as of 8 February 2023. Because of the region's sub-freezing temperatures, many families who lost their homes are sleeping on the streets and using any necessary means to stay warm.
Let us respond in love to our brothers and sisters who are affected by the earthquake. We welcome Catholics in Singapore who desire to contribute by joining us in prayer for all who are suffering or by giving in any way.
